Our Products List

Although some items are—by their very nature—only available in season, we and our suppliers have excellent cold storage facilities to insure the longest possible availability season for all of the products we carry. In addition, we offer many frozen items, and many items that generally are available year-round. Organic items are always specified as organic.

THE MAINE MEAT MARKET
There are a few farms in Maine that humanely grow enough meat to be able to offer limited supplies to wholesale buyers. The standard of practice requires animals to have free access to pasture and feed free of from antibiotics, hormones and animal proteins. Generally, animals raised in these conditions are clean, comfortable and not stressed. Animals that do require antibiotic treatment are not brought into this local food stream. Under these criteria, meat products will be described as “Naturally Raised” or “Organically Raised” (if the feed requirements meet the organic rule.)
